The FCV100 can accommodate two mono or one stereo instrument via dual 1/4" INPUT jacks. By switching into NORM mode, the FCV100 is capable of controlling the volume of two individual instruments. In CV mode the FCV100 can control modulation and volume levels of other musical instruments by connecting OUTPUT 2 to the volume or modulation input of the instrument. In CV mode, when OUTPUT 2 is in use, INPUT/OUTPUT 1 can still be used for controlling the volume of another instrument, similar to NORM mode.
It's Easy!
Once you have determined your hookup configuration, simply depress the pedal to increase sound, then rock back on your heel to decrease the sound. By turning the MIN VOL control, you can determine the minimum volume you wish to achieve. You can power this pedal with a 12 V DC Power adapter (not included) or a 9V battery.
Value
Dramatic shifts in volume and modulation can mean the difference between an ordinary musical passage and an extraordinary listening experience. Take hold of these mystifying nuances with the FCV100.

So why 4 starts instead of 1?
I use these as "expression" pedals, to control custom effects that I design and build (for myself, NOT looking for customers). As a major BONUS, it does NOT need a battery when working in this mode. So as an expression pedal it's fine. A little bit on the large side, considerably bigger than say a Boss volume pedal. Also if you put much weight on it, over the pivot point, you can bend the top metal plate, but its easy enough to bend it back, with bare hands. Other than that, it's built like a tank.
They don't specify that you have to use a stereo cord to make it work. Luckily I had one from an old computer sub as well as 2-3/8" to 1/4" adapters, THAT got it goin. But as I started using this pedal I noticed a couple other issues: the action in the sweep is VERY heavy on the heel, that is to say the heel on the pedal goes so damn low you could almost sprain your ankle using it. I tried to alleviate that by folding a guitar strap several times, wrapping it with duct tape, and velcroing it to the heel of the pedal to make the heel higher, the only issue with that is now the forward motion on the pedal is still very crazy.
Also ITS HUGE!!! This pedal is so much bigger than I expected that I thought it was something else entirely when I first got it; needless to say I made room on my pedal board for no reason, so it sits next to my pedal board.
If you're going to do the strap thing I described, take the rubber boot off of the FCV first. The adhesive on the velcro will not grip the rubber and I was using heavy duty velcro from home cheapo.
Also you will need to invest in a 12 volt power supply as apposed to just trying to jack into your daisy chain... Yes, this pedal is VERY friggin' special like that. I got a universal power supply for around $15 here on amazon and it works just fine.
Bottom line: This pedal ain't worth the time, effort or money required to use it. Spending the extra $80-$100 on the digitech whammy pedal is the only way to go. Behringer Dropped the ball hard on this one.
