We bought this because it was not your ordinary lame duck with sunglasses floater

We bought this because it was not your ordinary lame duck with sunglasses floater
We have a 27,500 gallon pool with attached spa. Which is a larger than average pool. We bought this because it was not your ordinary lame duck with sunglasses floater. Not only is it the coolest looking chlorine floater you will find, it is the best chlorine dispenser I have found in my 19 years of pool ownership. Through the unusually hot summer here in Southern California, (Don’t let those climate change detractors fool you), This dispensed enough chlorine so that I didn’t have to add any myself. With all the other floaters, I have to manually add chlorine when it gets really hot. The top and bottom are made of thick and sturdy plastic. It hasn’t faded this one summer, so we’ll see next year. Those reviewers who claim it won’t float upright didn’t read the other reviews instructing them to place a few small rocks in the bottom. I, however haven’t had that problem because I keep at least four 3” tabs in it at all times. But It will hold 5 or 6. I have never filled it to the top. And don’t “poke” holes in it with a knife like an idiot. Use a drill that is the approximate size of the existing starter divots. There are instructions on the side explaining exactly how many holes and where to drill them. (top and bottom rows). And it’s a conversation piece. Everyone comments on it, even the furniture delivery guys. I am purchasing a 2nd for back up because it works and when it eventually wears out, I will never find it again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Drilling the recommended rows of holes (top row and bottom two rows) ...
Reviewed in the United States on June 3, 2018
I had this floating in my pool less than 5 minutes after receivIng it. Drilling the recommended rows of holes (top row and bottom two rows) was simple with a handheld drill and bit. When my wife first saw it in the pool, she thought it was a witch hat. It does seem to resemble a hat at certain angles but she is satisfied with the shark fin. I cannot speak to the longevity of the product as I have only had it for a couple of days. However, I can recommend this product as far as ease of setup, use, and display.

I've mine for the hot tub; ive seen a few suggest it's too big for a hot tub but fine for me and doesnt crash into me and ive a small tub 5' x 5' and don't think it looks like a witch's hat neither; in a pool perhaps, but in the hot tub the churning water/bubbles cover the base so you only see the fin
i put in the equiv of two rows of holes though punched sporadically and 2 tablets and levels are where they need to be
Ss others said, you DO need to add a rock or it just floats on the side, but once in, it swims around..it's good fun
