Product Description

Featuring a powerful 12 volt DC motor protected by and mounted with corrosion-resistant stainless steel, the S80-12010 is equipped to both perform and protect from the hazards of the job. The motor is mounted outside of the large hopper to allow for more material, and delivering a true 120 lb. capacity, helping you get the job done quicker with fewer refills. This electric spreader comes standard with a Variable Speed Control—mounted conveniently within arms reach—which controls the spread swath, up to 16 feet. The Spyker electric lawn spreader's hopper gate control is operated by foot pedal when mounted on a ZTR mower. Otherwise, an 8 foot cable (optional) can be utilized for a gate control on an ATV or UTV. The length of wiring from the variable speed controller to the motor is 160" (13.3 feet), and the length of wiring from the variable speed controller to the battery is 80" (6.7 feet).

the spreader is mounted over the front axle like the manufacturer recommended
The manual says you need to "fabricate a mount". What you see in the picture is really what you have to work with - just two skids with 4 bolt holes.Fabricating the mount required some design work and a trip to the welder. When all was said and done, the spreader is mounted over the front axle like the manufacturer recommended. Maybe a few inches higher than recommended. The result? Dust in my face, all over my clothes, and a bunch of insecticide on the floor of the mower. On top of that, the back wheels now have a lot less traction because the weight has been distributed to the front wheels, so turning is a bear.I considered mounting this in the rear but was afraid I'd forget it was there, turn sharply next to a tree, and rip the thing off the mower. I'm now reconsidering that decision.

Expensive, but does the job. I fertilize an acre of grass, so I have consistency and spread width, each of which I can change quickly.
