I feel that these smaller, IonizeMe home units are a great compromise option for those of us who cannot afford a better, but much more expensive, professional-grade detox unit. After using this product for almost 1 year, I do not feel that I get as great of a detox out of the IonizeMe Elite as I did from my brother's IonCleanse Premier. However, it does help me a lot and has become an important part of my 'regular home maintenance care" for dealing with the 3 autoimmune disorders I have been diagnosed with (all of which cause arthritis and joint pain) and CKD (chronic kidney disease).
Also, the IonizeMe Elite seems to work much better than an alternative (also cheaper) home ionizing detox unit that I used in my Chiropractor's office (2015-17). They charged me $150 for 10 treatments, which was a good deal, that is, until they started over-using their arrays ... the arrays just don't work when they are used too many times! That made me decide it was time to buy my own unit. I shopped around and bought this IonizeMe Elite unit instead of buying an AMD Premier (which I couldn't afford at the time). Now I'm saving $$ and maintaining my health better at home.
Some people (see some 1-star reviews) claim this product does not work, in part because if you put tap water in the tub along with a brand new (or good) array, the water turns a light reddish-brown color without your feet in the tub. Personally, I think they are mistaken because they probably do NOT increase the amount of salt each time they use the same array with this product OR they need to change out their over-used array. Many ionizing detox product websites, including AMD and IonizeMe, discuss how and why this happens. Instead of saying this product doesn't work because the water turns to a color without your feet in it - please go and read that information. This has no bearing on what happens when you put your feet in the tub!
For me, the ONLY time this unit doesn't work well is if I don't have enuf salt in the water or my array is too old/over-used. BEWARE - the tap water NEVER gets the foamy or bubbly, dark green or dark brown/black stuff UNLESS you use a good array and put your feet into sufficiently salted water up for at least 10-15 mins. I have checked this out several times. You have to keep adding more salt each time as the array gets used over and over. As per their instructions, I find it also helps to use the cleaning solution on the array afterwards. I do get more uses out of an array if I clean it after each use.
I was given most of these tips by a man who owned the exact same Elite unit as this one when I was at a professional spa in AZ. He said you have to add enough salt UNTIL the alarm goes off, then start adding fresh tap water until the beeping stops. (You'll prob have to take the array out of the water several times as you re-add small amounts of fresh tap water to make the alarm go off). It's a 'pain' to have to titrate the tap water with the salt every time, but it's the only way to insure the unit will work properly for you every time. (I usu don't start titrating until after 3-5 uses.) That way you'll have enough salt in the water to activate the withdrawal of toxins, etc. I keep 2 cups of hot salted water next to my tub, and sometimes add more (until it beeps) half way thru a treatment, because the water is not turning dark enough. That usually solves the problem.
I have to say that I do agree with some other reviewers that this company's instructions and product info could be better. I had to figure out most of this on my own (bless that man in AZ for explaining all this to me). That's why I'm taking time to write this review and offer this advice to others. This product does work, if you know how to use it properly.
RE when to change out YOUR array, I almost always change out mine earlier than expected, especially if the water doesn't change colors dramatically or if I don't feel much better afterwards. This is my "tip" for when I need to change out my array to a fresh one. I'd recommend that you keep a list as to how many times you have used each array, After only 8 times, I had to swap one out because the tap water + salt wasn't changing the water color much. Usually, I swap out an array after about 15 uses. Someone said this company recommended 50 uses per array, which is ridiculous. If you are using an array 50 times, the unit is probably not doing anything for you!
When this IonizeMe Elite works properly, my badly swollen knees and other joints look normal again and the pain in my joints is much lessened. I am now on a blood thinner (Pradaxa) for afib, and it is dangerous when I fall while hiking in national parks - so I now take it with me and if I cannot get the swelling down after 2 ion detox treatments - then I go to the emergency room at a hospital to get the antidote for the Pradaxa.
It is quite possible that young, healthy people will NOT get the same results as I do (at age 69). Maybe some people don't benefit from these treatments as much as others because they are already very healthy. IMHO, if you have arthritis or joint pain - this is worth a try; but if you've never tried Ionizing foot detox baths before, you should first try at least two different products at spas or doctors offices before you buy. If you can try this unit somewhere (like I did first in AZ), that would be ideal!
My other son has OCD (no asperger's) and I haven't noticed any changes with that unfortunately. It did help tremendously with his plantar fasciitis though. After the ion FB he could walk normally and not need the boot. Not sure if that was b/c of the hot/warm water or the ionization or what. But it didn't tighten back up the next when his foot got cold again. We did about 6 FBs and now the plantar fasciitis hasn't returned. We did use castor oil, DMSO and a homeopathic cream too (before bed and morning) so not sure if it's just the FB only or the combo. I will say though i did those for months leading up and they did provide relief but it was always short term, until he ran on his foot again. I added the FBs 2 months later and after a month he came to me and told me he's been noticing his foot doesn't tighten up after he runs anymore. And if it does it much, much less where he can rest it for 30m and then he's completely fine. Before he'd be on crutches or the boot for a day with 30min foot massages w castor oil and then we'd apply the homeopathic ointment or DMSO. Now we don't need to do any of that anymore. What a relief.
For my daughter she has mold toxicity and the FB gives her more energy. She said she's able to wake up much more easily in the morning when she has a FB the night before.
For all my kids I started at 20 min 1x/week for the first week...then 30 min 2x/week. Now I do 45min 3x/week and plan to stay there. For detoxing it's best to start slow and work up from there.
I found out about the product on the Biomedical kids group on Facebook for parents trying to treat autistic and other kids naturally. I couldn't afford the $1200 ion cleanse machine and a mom mentioned she had success getting rid of her allergies with one she ordered from Amazon...I asked her the brand and the rest is history. Incidentally she also mentioned she uses the rectangle arrays that she orders separately and says they last longer so that's what I use as well. I haven't used the cylinder ones that came with the machine yet.
I have zero affiliation with this company...other than that I paid them full price for this product. I didn't receive any discounts or incentives to write an interview...nothing. I'm just a mom trying to find different ways to heal my kids and I wrote this review purely out my desire to possibly help others who may be looking to do the same.
