Product Description
Clorox Pool&Spa All-in-One XtraBlue Chlorinating Granules can be used to sanitize and shock your pool water clean and clear. The multi-functional XtraBlue formula kills and prevents all types of pool algae, kills bacteria, and reduces eye irritation and chlorine odor. These quick-dissolving, fast-acting chlorine granules are stabilized to protect against loss from sunlight to allow your sanitizer residual to last longer in your pool water. Clorox Pool&Spa All-in-One XtraBlue Chlorinating Granules should be applied daily or as needed to maintain free chlorine levels of 1 to 4 parts-per-million. Before applying, always test your pool water to get a reading of your free chlorine level. Add 2 to 4 ounces of All-in-One XtraBlue Chlorinating Granules per every 10,000 gallons of water to the pool skimmer. Alternatively, for white plaster pools you can also add directly to the pool water in deepest end of your pool. Be sure to brush any visible product to ensure it dissolves. Use the free Clorox® Pool app for tools to proudly and confidently maintain a swim-ready pool all season long.

My dad uses only this weekly in his hot tub and no clarifier, one teaspoon a week he says for his tub (he recommended this to us).
And there you go, two recommendations for the price of none! I hope it works as well for you as it does for us. Feel free to ask any questions.
The granules definitely take more time as they should be pre-dissolved before putting in the pool. To do that, I pour them into an old milk container and add warm water to the container. If that is too much trouble for you, then the granules are probably not a good idea. If the granules end up lasting only about as long as the liquid in the hotter months, then I will switch back to the liquid since the added work will not be worth it. The granules are also more expensive, so if they don't last longer, then that would be another reason that they are not worth it.
