It folds up into a little bag, and there is no rocking back and forth.

Sturdy!
The most important quality of a tripod is its sturdiness, and this little Neewer has it.My problem was that I bought a spotting scope with a 45-degree eyepiece. I bought it for viewing targets at the rifle range, but I also wanted to point it at the sky, without having to lie or sit under it, like I would with a straight scope. But sitting at a shooting bench brings the scope beside me to near eye level, and if the scope is mounted normally, I'd have to stand up to look down into it. So I needed a tripod that lets me mount the scope half-sideways to bring the eyepiece to eye level. That means this little tripod has to be strong, with a head that won't come loose and droop. This Neewer does the trick. It's not obvious from Amazon's photos, but the angle you can spread the legs to is limited by the rectangular blocks at the top of each leg. Pull the block out, and the leg spreads wider. There are 3 stops, besides straight down. The screw in the quick-release mounting plate has a flip-out handle, but I couldn't tighten the screw into the base of my scope tightly enough with just that, so I used a screwdriver. It hasn't budged since, and I'm leaving the part mounted to my scope.. As with any tripod screw, it's possible to overtighten and damage the bottom of your camera, but my scope uses a solid aluminum block, so that's not an issue. If you're mounting a camera on this or any tripod, get it tight enough, but don't get carried away. The photo of the targets is taken from 100 yards (91 meters) away. The holes are 0.3 inch (7.6 mm) in diameter. The remarkable thing about the photo is that I didn't mount a camera to the scope, just held my cellphone up to the eyepiece, and this tripod held it steady enough to get this shot. (Yes, it's crooked - my fault for holding my phone at an angle.)I had previously bought two tabletop tripods, and was trying to swap parts to get what I wanted in one. I wish I'd started with this Neewer.

This tripod is awesome! Very sturdy, it's, especially for this price, very high quality. When folded, small enough to fit in my camerabag.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great mini tripod for larger cameras
Reviewed in Canada on April 9, 2019
So far, pretty good. It's a compact tripod that won't take much space while traveling. Yet the legs are expandable to a respectable height. Best stability is clearly achieved as a table tripod with legs spread out flat. I have mounted my digital SLR (Nikon D-700) with heavy external lens on it, and am quite pleased with the tripod's stability. The bottom plaque that is screwed against the camera latches tightly against the tripod when reattached.
There is little to be critical about. The number of screws to loosed and tighten up when setting up/taking down the camera (three in total, excluding the legs when extended) can be somewhat confusing, but this is certainly just a matter of getting used to. At 816 grams I wouldn't really call the tripod "lightweight", but that's the inevitable downside of stability and durability (and once folded up it is definitely compact). For people with large hands (like me), finally, the handle of screw to attach the bottom plate to the camera is bit small to grab--but unless you permanently have to put it on and take it off again this is a manageable inconvenience.
