Advanced Heat and Massage Inversion Therapy Table
The Innova ITM5900 is a heavy-duty inversion table that comes with many features that set it apart from other inversion tables. Starting with its vertical massage pad that covers the entire spine area and its contour integrated lumbar to provide a close-up heat and vibration therapy for the lower back/waist area. It also has multi-mode settings to allow for a complete massage experience.
This model also features a large backrest pad and soft touch foam handlebars to allow for a comfortable, easy inversion. But these features are just the basics. The ITM5900’s True Balance System allows each user to find their own unique center of gravity. The Six Angle Pin System allows users to trust that the ITM5900 will easily, safely, and consistently deliver on the finest inversion experience.
True Balance System - Double Adjustment Structure
Unlike other inversion tables, which only have one adjustable part, the ITM5900’s True Balance System has two adjustable features, to help each individual user find the smoothest and most comfortable inversion experience for them. The True Balance Structure allows users to adjust the headrest and the height to micromanage the center of gravity.
6-Angle Pin System With Protective Cover
The ITM5900 also features a patented protective cover for the easy to adjust six angle pin system. Just position the pin in the desired slope and know that your inversion position will be safe, comfortable, and consistent every time. Old tether strap systems require the user to dismount entirely and climb underneath the table in order to adjust and can loosen after repeated use.

Some brief background: I am 78 years old, have suffered from chronic back pain for over 20 years, have undergone physical therapy along with a Yoga like daily exercise routine, and most recently had an MRI that revealed age related spinal degeneration affecting my lower back and neck regions. My physician had little to offer. There were days where the pain radiated throughout my back and partially into my left leg. It often restricted in my ability to walk my dogs. Even sitting could be uncomfortable. After considerable research, and despite no conclusive agreement that an Inversion Table is much more than a placebo I decided to try one - - - and to save a few bucks if it turned out worthless I went to the highly rated but less expensive Innova product.
Positives:
1.The Innova Table is easy to assemble with excellent instructions and videos available; but it does take some time and patience.
2. I adapted, quickly and easily to Inversion but I strongly recommend gradual increases in time and incline.
3. Balancing on the table is actually fun.
4. There has been a very definite improvement in my back pain. I assume it will never totally disappear, but is now reduced to a sort of very tolerable soreness...and I have only been at this for 7 weeks.
5. The table fits comfortably under an 8 foot ceiling and take up an acceptable amount of space.
The Negatives: (every product has some, and they are minor with this table)
1. As noted by others, the "massage" pad is actually a " heated vibration" pad. I like it, but do not expect it to do everything.
2. The table is stable but could be more sturdy. I am certain I will get my money's worth, but we will have to see how it holds up over the long run.
3. I currently use the 30 degree incline, which is what the literature recommends as best for my age group. It works. Some products allow infinite adjustment of the angle. On the Innova I will have to go up to 45 degrees next. It might be advantageous if the design allowed more gradual increases.
4. I am on the table 3 times a day, My routine is 2 minutes incline, 2 minutes in a neutral position, 5 repeats.
For many people this may take up too much of their day; but it's been working for me and enforces the reported advice that frequency of incline is more important than duration.
Please consider that like most of what else is posted about Inversion Therapy; my advice is purely anecdotal. I truly like the product, love Innova, and can whole heartedly give this endorsement.
Assembly: One look at the package contents and I knew there was no way I could assemble this table. (I assembled my previous one myself.) I paid a professional to assemble it, and he had to make several calls to the manufacturer and get a replacement for one of the cross-posts that was drilled crooked. The instructions were unclear on several points and he had to get advice from them more than once. The company was very responsive and shipped the replacement part properly. On a scale of one to five I give them a 1 for manufacture and a 5 for service.
The heat function is slow to warm up and then gets too hot for my comfort. I probably will not use it. I like the vibrator function. It seems to help relax the muscles which helps with the stretching.
The post that holds the foot rest is wobbly. I judge this to be a risk for slipping off when you step on and off. Get on and off extremely carefully.
The ankle clamp will not grip my ankles firmly. One setting is too lose and the next if I forced it enough to engage would be like a bench vise screwed all the way down. It lacks an intermediate setting that would be firm but comfortable.
The long ankle-release bar is very nice. My previous inversion table required me to bend all the way down to release my feet. I can reach this one with just a slight bend forward.
Does it work? I have not seen any scientific studies about whether or not an inversion table relieves back pain, so all I have is my own subjective, unblinded, N=1, experience. But I think it helps. I expect to continue using it on a daily bases along with my other stretching. I can recommend this unit with reservations, if you are tolerant of some quality issues in return for an attractive price, and if you are mechanically inclined or have access to someone who is, for the assembly process.
UPDATE (four months later):
I've managed to get a firmer grip from the ankle clamp by wearing shoes, which move my legs up a bit and positions the clamp lower down. It is now firm with a good grip.
I went back and forth on the heat/vibrator pad, trying it with and without, and I've decided I definitely like both the heat and the vibrator. I use the vibrator on the setting that gives a steady vibration on the lower back only, since that's where my issue is. I am not a doctor, but I do think that used in conjunction with my regular stretching, the inversion table helps with my lower-back pain.
Top reviews from other countries
My son built it on his own and took him about 30 minutes - it is very sturdy and looks great - you feel very secure as you are using it - I love the added massage and heat option and glad I spent more to have this
The product arrived on time and the delivery guy was really helpful as the item is quite heavy as you would expect
You need a 3 x 6 foot area, if you choose to not fold it between uses. It has very comfortable formed padding, has smooth operation, feels very secure and stable, and the heat and massage make a huge difference. I was wondering how it would feel with all the pressure being on your ankles when you're suspended. Not an issue at all. They state to wear footwear when using it. I did the first time and now hop on with whatever I have on my feet - just socks or even bare feet. I don't find a difference at all.
Four things I will point out. 1- I'm short, so I do raise up on my toes to get the ankle supports on my ankles before I lock in. If not, it grabs my calves and then I slide into position once I'm inverted. I think it's easier on my ankles to not have the force of repositioning.
2 - The 'massage' is actually vibrate, and if you have it on maximum intensity on the upper portion, I find it way too loud. I just use the lower back vibrate, and ensure that it is positioned correctly prior to inverting.
3 - You can't find your fulcrum based on the height adjustment. In the instructions it states that will vary based on your weight distribution. I use the 5' 3" setting and am actually 4' 11" tall - I have wide shoulders so am top heavy. It's not an issue at all, I just had to try three different settings before I found what worked for me.
4 - You need to know yourself for this to be worthwhile. My husband hated the feeling of being locked in and free hanging, even though he started on a slight incline. I was unsure about how I would handle it since I get vertigo. I use it as directed and don't have any issues. When I'm done hanging, I slowly go up to level for a bit, then very slowly return to an upright position. I felt a bit dizzy the first few times using it, but it passed within seconds. Now I just stay on for those extra seconds and pause to hold a position as I'm uprighting. Just be smart and you shouldn't have any issues.
I have back, hip and knee issues and I feel great each time I get off the table. I haven't used voltaren or pain medication since using the table regularly. I listen to my body and use it after housework, or out shopping, or after a long walk, or sitting in a vehicle or after exercising. I now do side to side stretching, grasping the table leg to give my sides and back a nice stretch. This table provides me with relief that I never expected.
