Great resin for a high gloss finish. Following the instructions is a must!
I have two countertops in my kitchen that I wanted to refinish with a faux black marble look. For first countertop, I used a highly-popular, well known epoxy. That countertop turned out flawless. However, my wallet suffered a serious hit.For the second countertop, I searched for an epoxy with the similar specifications as the first, but was more economical. My main concern on the second countertop was UV resistance. I was not concerned with a high heat tolerance, as this countertop isn't used for holding hot pans or oven items. For me, this epoxy from Incredible Solutions hit those marks. After prepping the countertop using an epoxy-based black undercoat paint, I was ready to pour the base coat. I used two different versions of black which were blended on the countertop by hand, one batch with Alumilite black dye, and the other with black mica powder. The epoxy took both additions quite well with no issues. Upon pouring the epoxy, I noted it seemed thicker that the other brand, but not by much. After blending, I was able to add the faux veins with white and gold metallix spray paint applied with a tongue depressor. The epoxy worked well in absorbing the paint and allowing it to settle into the epoxy. I then was able to use a heat gun to pop all the bubbles and get the epoxy to run smoothly over the edges. The heat gun also worked well with the epoxy to "blow out" and soften the veins. It worked just as well with the Incredible Solutions epoxy as it did with the other brand epoxy.I applies isopropyl alcohol from a spray bottle was lightly applied to allow the faux veins to gain "cells" (the tiny circles within the veins). The alcohol will make small divets in the epoxy surface. Using the heat gun, I applied a small amount of heat over the cells to remove the divets, leaving a smooth finish in the places the alcohol was applied. (Note: These divets are caused by surface tension between the alcohol/paint and the epoxy. Lightly and quickly pressing with your finger can aid in removing the larger divets.)I then was able to add the smaller veins with white and silver marble spray paint from Montana Cans. The epoxy also worked well with this product.I let the epoxy sit for 10-15 minutes and again went over the whole project with the heat gun. This was done a last time after another 10-15 minutes. Both times, I noticed very few bubbles. After 5 hours, I was able to apply the flood coat with the remaining half of the epoxy. I followed the same procedures I did with the base coat, with the exception being this coat wa applied and spread using a 1/8" square notch trowel. This allowed for an even coat over the whole project. Once the top was finished I was able to maneuver epoxy to flood over the edges. I used a brush (coated in epoxy) to brush out the edges. I used the heat gun a total of 3 times (again waiting 10-15 minutes between uses) to pop the bubbles. I left the project for 12 hours before checking for any tackiness. There was none. I was then able to clean up the plastic wrap and tape.Overall, I'm very impressed with the Incredible Solutions epoxy. Keep in mind that it does not have a high-heat tolerance and it should work well for anyone willing to follow the included instructions for working temperatures. Be patient and don't take shortcuts and you'll have a beautiful, high-gloss finish.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Easy Epoxy for Even First-Timers
Reviewed in the United States on June 18, 2018
As a first-time user of epoxy, I was pleasantly surprised by this experience. First, it arrived much faster than I had expected. ETA was supposed to be sometime Monday or later, and it arrived the Friday before. The instructions for using it was clear and mixing it was very easy. In stirring, it did develop bubbles, but most of them were gone when I poured it on the table. Spreading it was easy with a little help from a plastic spatula, it leveled nicely. I tried to use a heat gun to work out the remaining air bubbles, but it was not required considering how warm it was inside the room I was working in. I actually think it may have made my experience more complicated than it should have been. When I stopped using heat, I fared much better. Overall, great product, fast service, and easier to use than expected.

UPDATE:
I have now completely finished the table that I was working on. I decided to add one more coat and I must say that the end result is even more impressive. The table tops are very smooth. I love how they shine when the light hits them. The edges took a little more effort, but overall I think it looks amazing. Considering this table is one that I got from my mom's house after she passed away in 2012 and it was nothing special. I just loved the table as it was. I feel that I've now taken her table and made it a true keepsake, which perhaps my kids will one day take to their own homes. There are no imperfections that matter in the final coat of epoxy. The ones that are there, were either put there by me or paint splatters from when my mom painted near the table.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome product!
Reviewed in the United States on March 22, 2020
My husband and I engaged in this project to convert our sliced wood top nesting tables into epoxy encased tables. We have never worked with epoxy before so we decided to only work with the larger table for our first go at this. You'll see the larger and the smaller table staged together in the pics. We just used paper cups to measure out both reagents, used the end of a swifer duster as our mixing stick (we weren't using it for dusting anyway:)). We reused plastic containers that we had around the house from used products like yogurt, nuts etc. for each layer that we poured so that we could throw away the containers once we poured each layer. We poured a total of 4 layers and were impressed with how transparent each layer turned out. One thing that we'd recommend to anyone who is working with untreated wood is make sure you treat/seal the wood before encasing with epoxy. We did not do this for our table and the wood was super dry and porous. This caused the wood to bubble as it soaked up the moisture and the bubbles became more apparent after we poured our second layer but, we were able to get most of the bubbles out by using a heat gun. Don't be alarmed when you're mixing the product and you see bubbles forming and floating up and landing on you, this is normal and you can remove these bubbles after pouring by using a heat gun. I recommend using clothes that you don't care about because these tiny bubbles will land on your clothes if you're wearing full sleeves. Overall, we are exceptionally satisfied with the product, its easy to use, its transparent and it comes with precise directions for use.
