Customers are mixed about the accuracy of the gauge. Some mention it's very accurate, reliable, and provides info on speed, distance, and battery charge. They also enjoy real-time gas mileage and the speedometer is more responsive than their car's speedometer. However, others say that it didn't show speed, showed MPG's at 999, and oil temp was at a constant 32. It has a very slow response rate to changes and doesn't track smoothly to rpm increase, temp increase, and it'd not be accurate in every way.

Excellent gauge for the price! Couple of flaws that are easy to fix! Read below
I really liked the way the guage worked and looked, however like everyone else was saying, during the daytime the display is very hard to read because it is self-dimming and the light sensor is tucked underneath the USB port in the bottom of the back of the gauge. Also the constant BEEPING everytime you start and stop the car or press a button on it was very irritating. I was able to simply solve BOTH of those problems with some time an patience and I will explain how. If you turn the bezel of the gauge very carefully clockwise it will come right off and you will be able to put the bezel and screen to the side like the picture i have attached here. If you look closely at the picture of the circuit board and you look at the very bottom, you will see a small device with the squiggly lines that go up and down. That is the light sensor that is originally placed on the backside of the circuit board. If you carefully remove the two screws holding the circuit board down and gently remove the circuit board from the gauge housing and flip it over you will see that device on the bottom below the USB port. Very gently use your fingers and bend that device underneath the board and have it exposed to the FRONT of the board like I have it shown in the picture. The light sensor will now be up against the back of the gauge screen which is bright enough to tricking the sensor and making it always FULL BRIGHTNESS. While you have the circuit board out and flipped over, you will also notice a small round black plastic drum looking device that sticks off the board quite a bit. That device is the chime that makes the BEEPING sounds. Gently put a pair of plyers on it and wiggle it back and forth a few times and it will pull right off the circuit board and then the annoying BEEPING sounds will be GONE. Carefully re-assemble the gauge in reverse order. If you wanted to get fancy like i did, you can also remove the bezel around the screen and paint it silver or whatever color you would like.'I hope this review helps a lot of people out with the few flaws this unit has.

Update. I did an exchange through Amazon. New one looks identical but the plug is different. I dont know which style is the "new" or "old" but whatever, new one works like it should. Added a new pic and video

Not working for me. Button does nothing.
Plugged it in my mini cooper and it just gives me the basics. Button wont do anything.
So I tried in my Infiniti and just does the same.
When first plugged in, it goes through the connecting screens then says connection failed. I tried turning the car on then plugging it in and plug it first then start the car, same results. Just gives me speed, temp and whatever the bars on top/bottom are.
I'll contact the seller and see what they say. If anything comes out of it, I'll update this.

3.0 out of 5 stars Overall good, some quirks

Lets start off by saying this is a really cool device. It has strong points and weak ones. I bought it because I needed to monitor the water temp in my Land Rover. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

    The positives!
I have had a few issues with my Rover and the check engine light has come on. This makes it really easy to scan the ECM and see what’s going on. One of my issues was my O2 sensor. Once I replaced it I was able to erase the trouble code and the CEL turned off! I have also really enjoyed real-time Gas mileage and the other things it can read. It pretty much can read every sensor that your ECM can read.

    The negatives.
It doesn’t always read some of the sensors. The primary one I need it to read is my water temp and about 1/2 the time it doesn’t give me a reading. I have to unplug it and plug it back in and it works. I have clicked through the other readings when this happens and it isn’t reading those either. I did this a couple times to make sure it wasn’t the sensor that was having an issue.

All in all I have found this devise to be quite useful. It was super easy to install. I simply snaked the wire through my dash to give it a clean look. I have recommended this device a few times but I warn people about the issues I have faced.

Works fine in the FJ Cruiser 2014. ideal location as the small top compartment can be used here. Item is small but in the FJ, there is already a central set of 3 circular instruments. The wire just goes down to the OBD2 plug. Easy install no mess and quick. In my case, the original Toyota cluster is in km/h. To drive in the UK a speedometer showing miles/h is mandatory.
